Donal O'Connell Veterinary Practice is described in reviews as handling both routine, long-term care and urgent cases, including emergency surgery and out-of-hours treatment. Several owners mention rapid response in emergencies (including a Sunday-night dog-attack case where the clinic responded immediately by phone and the dog was seen within an hour) and good communication during an inpatient stay after surgery. A small number of reviews conflict with this, alleging rushed appointments, bruising after a neck blood draw, and a missed ear problem that they felt wasn’t properly addressed.

The junior veterinary doctor doesn’t represent the compassionate nature or professionalism,. Few times meeting with a same person leaves us a negative opinion on his attitude towards us and towards our beloved pets.Prices are really sky high, and you expect a high quality service with it, but sadly he left our pets neck bruised after blood was taking from his neck vein, and he did a very unsatisfactory job on our other pet as well when he missed the fact the ear was fully ducted, and cleaning the ears with cotton buds was only a fast solution !we had to bring our pets to different vet, to Killarney where the vet is absolutely very good, professional and kind, and not trying to get rid of us and our pets after 10 mins visit, like happened to us in Dingle Not recommended at all!!!the one star is given to a reception desk, who were at least nice enough

What a fantastic veterinary surgery. The vets were so kind but knowledgeable and professional. They did something for us today, over and above the call of duty. We can't thank them enough. Penny and Stuart

I can't speak highly enough of O'Connell's vets, who looked after my dog in an emergency late on Sunday evening when she had been attacked and badly injured by another dog. They responded immediately on the phone, we were at the surgery and my dog was being looked after and taken in within the hour. Total legends! God Bless people who look after animals for a living.

Extremely friendly staff who are gentle and kind. Have always looked after our dog so well for many years. Dog recently had emergency surgery, they were so kind and informative during her stay and she is recovering extremely well after it all. Thanks Eileen, Claire, Olivia, Brendan and Ursula.

My dog became unwell whilst visiting family in Dingle. The staff on the reception were friendly and the vets themselves were caring and knowledgeable. I was amazed how cheap they were compared to the UK. Highly recommended you won’t be disappointed.
